Hadith 649
649 - قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: وَسَمِعْتُ مَعْمَرًا يُحَدِّثُهُ بَعْدُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: يَا أَبَا عُرْوَةَ إِنَّمَا هُوَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَقَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: إِنَّا عَرَضْنَاهُ، وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: هَذَا مِمَّا عَرَضْنَاهُ
Sufyan says: I heard from Mu'ammar, who narrated this from Zuhri, from Salim, from his father. So I said to him: O Abu 'Urwah! This narration is transmitted from Abu Bakr bin 'Ubaidullah. So Mu'ammar replied: We presented this narration before them. Sometimes Sufyan says: This is one of those narrations which we presented before them.
