Abdullah bin Dinar narrates: I went with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) towards Banu Muawiyah, and their dogs started barking at us. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever keeps a dog that is not for hunting or for guarding livestock, then two qirats are deducted from his reward every day."
