641 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ، وَحَدَّثَنَا عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَي مَثْنَي، فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ» .
Salim bin Abdullah narrates from his father, who says: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say: "The night prayer is to be offered two by two; when you fear that dawn is near, then pray one rak'ah as witr."
