Urwah bin Zubair narrates this statement of Sayyiduna Zubair bin al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him): We were coming with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from «لِيّه» (a suburb of Ta’if), until when we reached Sidrah (a berry tree), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped at Qarn Aswad (a small mountain or a village near Ta’if). He (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed opposite to it and faced towards Nakhb (a small valley by that name). He (peace and blessings be upon him) remained there, so the people also stayed. Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, the game of «وج» (i.e., Ta’if) and its trees are also part of the Haram, which Allah Almighty has made sacred.” The narrator says: This incident took place before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) camped at Ta’if and before the siege of the tribe of Thaqif.
