Salim bin Abdullah narrates from his father: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), when he began the prayer, he raised both his hands up to his shoulders. Then, when he was about to go into bowing (ruku‘) and after raising his head from bowing, he also performed the raising of the hands (raf‘ al-yadayn). However, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not raise his hands between the two prostrations (sajdahs).
