616 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حُجَيْرٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ: " هَذِهِ حُجَّةٌ عَلَي مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَوْلُهُ: قَصَّرْتُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِشْقَصِ أَعْرَابِيٍّ عِنْدَ الْمَرْوَةِ "، يَقُولُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: حِينَ نَهَي عَنِ الْمُتْعَةِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: This is an argument against Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), that is, what he said that I trimmed the hair of the Prophet (peace be upon him) near the Marwah mountain with a villager’s scissors. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: This happened at a time when the Prophet (peace be upon him) had forbidden performing Hajj Tamattu.
