590 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ يَقُولُ: تَزَوَّجْتُ ابْنَةَ أَبِي إِهَابٍ فَجَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّي قَدْ أَرْضَعْتُكُمَا فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي، ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ مِنْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي، ثُمَّ اسْتَقْبَلْتُهُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّهَا سَوْدَاءُ وَإِنَّهَا وَإِنَّهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «كَيْفَ وَقَدْ قِيلَ»
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I married the daughter of Abu Wahab (may Allah be pleased with him). Then a black woman came and said: I have suckled both of you (husband and wife). (Sayyiduna Uqbah [may Allah be pleased with him] says) I approached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from his right side and asked him about this matter, but he turned away from me. Then I came to him from his left side, and again he turned away from me. Then I came in front of him and asked him about this issue. I said: O Messenger of Allah! She is a black woman, and such and such, and such and such. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the matter has been stated, then what can be done now?"
