586 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ وَزَادَ «الضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ فَمَا زَادَ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ، وَجَايِزَتُهُ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ لَا يَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَثْوَي عِنْدَهُ حَتَّي يُحْرِجَهُ»
The same narration is transmitted with another chain from Sayyiduna Abu Shurayh (may Allah be pleased with him) in a similar manner, however, these additional words are present in it: "Hospitality for a guest is for three days; whatever is beyond that will be charity. The guest should be served food with special care for one day and one night, and it is not permissible for the guest to stay with the host for so long that he puts him in difficulty."
