Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not command me to camp, that is, to camp in the valley of Abtah. However, I pitched a tent there. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came and he camped there.

Abu Ma'mar reported: There was an Amir in Makkah who pronounced taslim twice. 'Abdullah said: Where did he get this sunnah? Al-Hakam said: There is a hadith to the effect that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did like It.

Hadith Commentary: Vocabulary of the Hadith: اَنّٰيعَلَّمَهَا: From where did he acquire this Sunnah? That is, the ruler expressed astonishment at his knowledge of the Sunnah of greeting.
