540 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا أَيُّوبُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عِكْرِمَةَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيْسَ لَنَا مَثَلُ السُّوءِ الْعَائِدُ فِي هِبَتِهِ كَالْكَلْبِ يَعُودُ فِي قَيْئِهِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "An evil example is not suitable for us. The one who takes back his gift is like a dog that licks up its own vomit."
