Hadith 485
485 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ أَتَي الْغَائِطَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَأُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَلَا تَتَوَضَّأُ؟ فَقَالَ: «إِنَّمَا أَسْتَطِيبُ بِشِمَالِي وَإِنَّمَا آكُلُ بِيَمِينِي»
Hisham bin Urwah narrates from his father: Sayyiduna Umar went to relieve himself, and when he returned, food was presented to him. He was asked: "Will you not perform ablution?" He replied: "I cleansed myself with my left hand, and it is with my right hand that I eat."
