Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I performed eight rak‘ahs together and seven rak‘ahs together behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Madinah Munawwarah. The narrator named ‘Amr bin Dinar al-Makki says: I asked (my teacher) Jabir bin Zayd, “O Abu Sha‘tha! I think that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed the Zuhr prayer and performed the ‘Asr prayer early, and delayed the Maghrib prayer and performed the ‘Isha prayer early.” He replied, “That is also what I think.”
