Hadith 465
465 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عَبَّاسَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ يَقُولُ قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبَا طَالِبٍ كَانَ يَحُوطُكَ وَيَنْصُرُكَ فَهَلْ نَفَعَهُ ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَ: «نَعَمْ وَجَدْتُهُ فِي غَمَرَاتٍ مِنَ النَّارِ فَأَخْرَجْتُهُ إِلَي ضَحْضَاحٍ»
Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Abu Talib used to take care of you and help you, so will he benefit from this in any way?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes, I found him in the depths of Hell, so I brought him out to a shallow part of it."
