Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day when the son of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), passed away, there was a solar eclipse. So the people said: The solar eclipse has occurred because of the death of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of anyone’s life or death. When you see them (in the state of eclipse), then hasten towards the remembrance of Allah and prayer.”
