Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted us to wipe over the leather socks, and for the traveler it is for three days and three nights, and for the resident it is for one day and one night. If we had requested more from you (O Prophet), you would have granted us further concession.
