Hadith 426

426 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا عَامِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ يُخْبِرُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ وَأُمَامَةُ بِنْتُ الْعَاصِ وَهِيَ ابْنَةُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَي عَاتِقِهِ فَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَضَعَهَا فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ أَعَادَهَا»

Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) leading the people in prayer. Sayyidah Umamah bint Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with her), who is the daughter of Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), was being carried by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on his neck. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went into ruku‘, he put her down, and when he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prostration, he picked her up again.
