Abdullah bin Yazid Sa'di narrates: I asked Sa'id bin al-Musayyib about eating badger, so he said: Can anyone eat it? I said: People from my tribe hunt it and eat it. So Sa'id said: It is not permissible to eat it. Then an elderly man present with him said: Shall I tell you something that I heard from Sayyiduna Abu Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him)? I heard Sayyiduna Abu Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) say: "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating the limb cut from a living animal, and the animal killed by being targeted, and every animal with sharp teeth." So Sa'id said: You have spoken the truth.

It is an animal that is tied up and then shot at with arrows until it dies.
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) has prohibited eating such an animal,
