Mukhaddaji narrates: It was said to Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him): O Abu Muhammad, they say: Witr is obligatory. So Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Abu Muhammad is mistaken. I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There are five prayers which Allah has made obligatory upon His servants during the day and night. Whoever performs them and does not neglect anything regarding their due, then it is incumbent upon Allah to admit him to Paradise. And whoever does not perform them, then there is no covenant for him with Allah. If He wills, He will forgive him, and if He wills, He will punish him."
