Hadith 39

Aish bin Anas narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) saying this from the pulpit of Kufa. My madhi (pre-seminal fluid) used to come out in abundance. I wanted to ask the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about this, but since the daughter of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was my wife, I felt shy to ask him directly. So I instructed Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Yasir, and he asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about it. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "It is sufficient to perform wudu (ablution) upon its emission."

Benefit:
From this blessed hadith, it is understood that a son-in-law should not discuss issues of modesty and shame in front of his father-in-law and his family. It is also established that the emission of madhiy (pre-seminal fluid) nullifies ablution (wudu). In Sahih Muslim (33) it is stated: «يغسل ذكره، ويتوضأ» He should wash his private part and perform ablution. From this, it is understood that due to the emission of madhiy, one should also wash the private part. If madhiy gets on any part of the clothing, sprinkling water on that area is sufficient. (Sunan Abi Dawud: 210, Hasan) And there is consensus (ijma‘) that madhiy is impure (najis). (Al-Majmu‘ by Nawawi: 2/552)
