Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I had a cousin whose house was very far. I said to him: If you take a house near the mosque or get a donkey, it would be appropriate. He replied: I do not like that my house should be among the houses of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Sayyiduna Ubayy (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Since he had accepted Islam, I had not heard anything from him that displeased me more than this. And now he was mentioning coming on foot. I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and mentioned this to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "For every step he takes while coming towards the mosque, he will get a rank in return for each step."
