Muhammad bin Munkadir narrates: Allah Almighty, because of a righteous man, protects his children, his children's children, his house, and the houses around him. And all of them are under the protection of Allah Almighty. Sufyan says: My teacher narrated these additional words to me: "And they are in a veil (protected)."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Muhammad Ibrahim bin Basheer
Benefit: From this hadith it is established that faith (iman) holds a very high status and rank. Whoever is a true believer (mu’min) in the real sense, Allah, the Exalted, protects him and his children from tribulations. The statement of Allah, the Exalted, is: «نَّاللَّهَيُدَافِعُعَنِالَّذِينَآمَنُواإِنَّاللَّهَلَايُحِبُّكُلَّخَوَّانٍكَفُورٍ » (Al-Hajj: 38) “Indeed, Allah defends those who have believed.”
Furthermore, from this hadith it is also understood that regardless of the state of the children—whether they are sinful or righteous—if their parents are righteous, then their righteousness and piety will benefit their children.
SG Note: EG In the explanation of “كان أبوهما صالحا” (“their father was righteous”), Hafiz Abdussalam bin Muhammad rahimahullah says that Allah, the Exalted, grants special care to the believing offspring of His righteous servants even after their death. (Tafsir al-Qur’an al-Karim: 2/560)
Placing the condition of “believing offspring” is contrary to the explanation of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhuma in Musnad Humaydi (376); in the incident of Khidr alayhis salam, it is not established that those boys were righteous.
