Hadith 369
369 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سَكَنٍ تَقُولُ: حَدَّثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الدَّجَّالِ فَقَرَّبَ أَمْرَهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَعْجِنُ لِأَهْلِيَ الْعَجِينَ فَمَا أَظُنُّ أَنْ يَبْلُغَ حَتَّي يَخْرُجَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنْ يَخْرُجْ وَأَنَا فِيكُمْ فَأَنَا حَجِيجُهُ دُونَكُمْ، وَإِنْ يَخْرُجْ بَعْدِي فَاللَّهُ خَلِيفَتِي عَلَي كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ»
Sayyida Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us about the Dajjal, and he made the matter seem near and apparent. I said: O Messenger of Allah! I have kneaded dough for my family and it seems to me that the Dajjal will emerge before I reach there. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If he appears while I am among you, then I will confront him on your behalf, and if he appears after me, then in my place Allah, the Exalted, will be the guardian of every Muslim."
