Sayyidah Umm Husayn (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon, he was wearing a cloak and the muscles of his shoulders were moving (i.e., an expression of fervor was apparent).

Benefit: It is established from this hadith that if the body moves during the sermon, no deficiency results from it. The preacher should gesture with the index finger of the right hand, not with both hands.

Umm al Hussain said We performed the Farewell Pilgrimage along with the Prophet ﷺ. I saw Usamah and Bilal one of them holding the halter of the she-Camel of the Prophet ﷺ, while the other raising his garment and sheltering from the heat till he had thrown pebbles at the jamrah of the ‘Aqabah.

1834. Commentary: It is permissible for a muhrim (one in the state of ihram) to sit in any shade, to use an umbrella, or for someone else to provide him with shade—all these situations are allowed. However, he cannot tie a turban, cap, or cloth, etc.
