Umar bin Abdul Aziz narrates: A woman, Sayyida Khawla bint Hakim (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the wife of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Maz'oon (may Allah be pleased with him), has narrated this: One day the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, and he was carrying one of his grandsons in his lap. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Children (i.e., offspring) make a person heedless, make him cowardly, and make him stingy. Indeed, you are the gift of Allah Almighty, and indeed, the Lord of all the worlds will seize the disbelievers at the place of 'Waj' (which is a place near Ta'if)."

Commentary: Note: (In the chain of narration, Ibn Abi Suwayd is a majhool (unknown) narrator, and there is also a break (inqita‘) in the chain, because it is not known that ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz heard from Khawlah. Therefore, the phrase "And indeed you are among the sweet basil of Allah" is weak. However, the first phrase is sahih li-ghayrihi (authentic due to supporting evidence).
