Hadith 33

33 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُوسَي، أَخْبَرَنِي نُبَيْهُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْحَجِّيُّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَانَ بْنَ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْمُحْرِمُ لَا يَنْكِحُ وَلَا يَخْطُبُ»
Aban, the son of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates from his father that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person in the state of ihram cannot marry, nor can he send a marriage proposal."
