Sayyida Zaynab bint Abu Salama (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from Sayyida Habibah bint Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with them both), who narrates from her mother Sayyida Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), who narrates the statement of Sayyida Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her): Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up from sleep, and his blessed face was red, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying: «لا إله إلا الله» “There is no deity except Allah, there is no deity except Allah, woe to the Arabs because of an evil that has drawn near; today, a portion of the barrier of Gog and Magog has been opened this much.” The narrator named Sufyan indicated the number ten with his hand to explain this. I asked: O Messenger of Allah! Will we be destroyed while there are righteous people among us? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Yes, when evil becomes widespread (then all people will be destroyed).” Sufyan says: According to my memory, there are four women mentioned in this narration, and all of them are female Companions; two of them are wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): Sayyida Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) and Sayyida Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), and two are stepdaughters of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), that is, Sayyida Zaynab bint Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) and Sayyida Habibah bint Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her). Their father's name was Ubaydullah bin Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with him), who passed away in the land of Abyssinia.

´Zainab bint Jahsh said:` "One day the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) awoke from sleep with a flushed red face, and said: 'La Ilahaillallah. He repeated it thrice. 'Woe to the Arabs from the evil drawn near. Today a gap has been made in the wall of Ya'juj and Ma'juj like this.' And he formed ten(with his fingers)." Zainab said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Shall we be destroyed while they are righteous among us?' He said: 'Yes, when the evil abounds."'

´It was narrated that Zainab bint Jahsh said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) woke up red in the face and said: ‘La ilaha illallah, woe to the Arabs from an evil that has drawn nigh. Today a hole has been opened in the barrier of Gog and Magog.’ And he gestured to indicate the size of the hole.” Zainab said: “I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Will we be destroyed when there are righteous people among us?’ He said: ‘If sin and evil deeds increase.’”

Benefits and Issues: (1) Yajuj and Majuj are a corrupting people, for the protection from whom Dhu al-Qarnayn (alayhis salam) constructed a great wall. This is mentioned in Surah al-Kahf, verses (93–99) .
(2) When that wall collapses, these people will attack other nations and commit plunder. This will be a very great tribulation.
(3) When righteous people become few and the dishonest and immoral people increase, then Allah’s punishment descends in various forms, such as: earthquakes, floods, storms, and wars, etc.
(4) To avoid this situation, enjoining good (amr bil-ma‘ruf) and forbidding evil (nahi ‘an al-munkar) is very necessary.
(5) The indication of “ten” is made by placing the tip of the thumb on the tip of the index finger. The meaning was that the circle formed by placing the thumb on this finger—such a hole has appeared in the wall of Alexander (Sadd-i-Sikandari).
(6) Once a hole appears, then the danger is that this hole will become larger, and eventually that wall will break, and Yajuj and Majuj will be set free in the world to commit killing and destruction.
