Hadith 301

301 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ مُوسَي بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ، عَنْ مَوْلَي لِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مَقْبُوَلًا»
Mother of the Believers, Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite after the morning: "O Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and accepted deeds."

Hadith Takhrij « إسناده ضعيف فيه جهالة. ولكن الحديث صحيح، وقد استوفينا الحديث عنه فى «مسندالموصلي» برقم 6930، و 6950، 6997 اخرجه ابن ماجه فى سننه 928 ، وأحمد فى المسند 25956 , 26035 , 26124 , 26155 ، والنسائي فى الكبرى 8668 ، والطيالسي فى مسنده 1699 ، وعبدالرزاق فى مصنفه 3090 ، وابن أبى شيبة فى مصنفه 28689 ، وعبد بن حميد فى مسنده 1540 »

Benefit:
In this hadith, one of the supplications from the morning remembrances (adhkar) is mentioned. Whether it is the morning and evening adhkar or the adhkar for other occasions, one should be diligent in reciting them. Furthermore, from this supplication, the importance of beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and such deeds that are accepted is established. By beneficial knowledge is meant the knowledge of the Qur'an and Hadith, which brings a person closer to the Creator and Master, and upon which one also acts.
