Mother of the Believers, Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): I said, I am a woman who ties her braids tightly, so should I undo them for the ritual bath of janabah? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is sufficient for you that you pour three handfuls of water over your head, then pour water over your body, and you will become pure." (The narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words:) "In this way, you will become pure."
