Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When evil becomes widespread, Allah the Exalted sends hardship upon the people of the earth." Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I asked, "Will we be destroyed while there are obedient servants of Allah among us?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! Then you will go towards the mercy of Allah the Exalted."

Benefit:
This narration is weak in terms of its chain of transmission. In this hadith, a severe warning is mentioned regarding the prevalence of sins: the dominance of sins is an invitation to the punishment of Allah, the Exalted. This is precisely the situation of the present era, where evil is widespread and dominant everywhere. This is the reason why various kinds of punishments are also descending, and both the righteous and the wicked are caught up in them. However, Allah, the Exalted, loves justice; outwardly, this punishment will be imposed upon the righteous as well, but then Allah, the Exalted, will call them towards His mercy (Paradise). From this, it is also understood that when punishment descends upon a town or city and there are righteous people among them, people begin to pass the same judgment upon them as upon the general populace, saying that so-and-so also received the punishment of Allah, the Exalted, and they start making various statements. We should refrain from such thoughts and attitudes; Allah, the Exalted, knows the righteous very well, and He will not waste their righteousness and piety. Rather, after their passing, He will resurrect them according to their intentions.
