Explanation & Benefits

Benefit:
From this hadith, the importance of drinking cool and sweet water becomes clear, as it was greatly beloved to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). In the intense heat of summer, the significance of cool water is evident to everyone. Furthermore, it is narrated in Sunan al-Tirmidhi (3358), from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu), that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: Indeed, on the Day of Resurrection, the first of the blessings about which a servant will be questioned is this: it will be said to him: « الـم نـصـح لك جسمك ونرويك من الماء البارد » Did We not grant you health in your body, and did We not quench your thirst with cool water? (Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah graded this narration as hasan, Sahih al-Jami' al-Saghir: 2022)
