Hadith 227

Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever likes to meet Allah, Allah also likes to meet him; and whoever dislikes to meet Allah, Allah also dislikes to meet him. And the meeting with Allah takes place after death."

Benefit:
From this hadith, it is understood that a believer desires to meet Allah Ta'ala, and Allah Ta'ala also desires to meet the believing servant. This is only possible when a person lives his life according to the Qur'an and Sunnah. A person who is without deeds does not have love for Allah Ta'ala; if he had love and the desire to meet, he would be a person of action. A person without deeds is distant from Allah Ta'ala, and Allah Ta'ala is also distant from the sinful and immoral. May Allah Ta'ala make us righteous, Ameen.

Hadith Commentary:

Good fortune is that, at the time of death, the longing to meet Allah prevails and there is no grief over leaving the world. May Allah grant every Muslim death in this state, ameen. The purpose of reciting the kalimah tayyibah at that time is also this: the pain that a believer experiences at the time of death ultimately results in eternal comfort.
