Mother of the Believers, Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once sent goats as sacrificial animals (hadi).
Imam Humaydi (may Allah have mercy on him) says: The narrator named Abu Muawiyah has transmitted these additional words in this narration: "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had adorned them with necklaces."
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Muhammad Ibrahim bin Basheer
Benefit:
Hady refers to the animal that is sent towards the Sacred Sanctuary of Makkah (Haram Makki) for the sake of Allah’s pleasure, and this animal will be from among goats, camels, or cows. It is permissible to adorn the hady with a collar. The goat is a weak animal, so it should not be injured, but it is permissible to put a collar (qaladah) on a goat as hady. Imam Bukhari rahimahullah has established a chapter: “Chapter on Collaring Sheep (Bab Taqleed al-Ghanam),” under which he has brought (4) ahadith, numbers 1701 to 1404. Also see Fath al-Bari: 3/692.

Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
What could be clearer than this? Furthermore, the narrator of this tradition is Hazrat Aswad, who is among the most reliable narrators of Kufa. He is a highly esteemed student of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu. The Hanafis have complete trust in him. He is counted among the jurists (fuqaha) of the Tabi'in.

Hadith Commentary:
Although this hadith does not mention hanging a necklace around the necks of goats, which is the subject of the chapter, this is explicitly stated in the following hadith.

Shaykh Maulana Abdul Aziz Alvi
Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues: In the Makkan surahs, the mention of the punishment of the grave is present, but those verses pertain to the disbelievers. Therefore, at first, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) understood that the punishment of the grave was for the disbelievers. After coming to Madinah, it became known that sinful Muslims would also be subjected to this trial and punishment.
The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had informed Aisha (radi Allahu anha) about the trials of the grave, and she did not understand from this that it referred to the punishment of the grave. Therefore, she denied the statements of the Jewish women, and the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) informed her about the punishment of the grave after the trial of the grave as well, because the trial of the grave itself is a precursor to the punishment of the grave.

Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
1755. Commentary: The original Sunnah and legislated offering (hady) to be sent to the Haram is the sacrificial animal. Now, some ignorant and uninformed people send grains for the pigeons; this is not a prescribed act in the Shari‘ah.
