Mother of the Believers, Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Fatimah bint «ابوحُبَيْشٍ» suffered from irregular bleeding (istihada). She asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about the issue. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "This is from a vein and is not menstruation. When menstruation comes, leave the prayer, and when it departs, perform ghusl (ritual bath) and start performing the prayer." (The narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words:) "Wash the blood from yourself and start performing the prayer."
