Aisha bint Talha narrates this statement from her aunt, Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her): One day, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and asked, "Is there anything to eat?" I replied, "We have nothing to eat." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then I will observe (a voluntary) fast."
