Narration on Two Short Rak’ahs of Fajr

Hadith 181

181 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا يَحْيَي بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: «إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ فَأَقُولُ هَلْ قَرَأَ فِيهِمَا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ التَّخْفِيفِ؟»

Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the two rak'ahs of Fajr so briefly that I would wonder whether he had recited Surah al-Fatihah in them? That is, they were that brief.
