Imam Malik bin Anas asked Zaid bin Aslam, so Zaid narrated: I heard my father narrate that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this: I gave a horse in the way of Allah (to participate in jihad), then later, I saw that horse being sold, so I asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): Should I buy it? The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not buy it, and do not take back what you have given in charity."
