Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever performs ghusl on Friday, performing ghusl well (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps the words are) attains purity well (or performs wudu well), then wears fine clothes, uses the best perfume available in his house that Allah has destined for him, goes for Jumu'ah, and does not separate two people, then the sins committed between this and the previous two Jumu'ahs, and an additional three days (i.e., ten days in total), are forgiven for that person."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Muhammad Ibrahim bin Basheer
Benefit: The importance of performing ritual bath (ghusl) on the day of Jumu'ah is established, and applying fragrance (perfume) on the day of Jumu'ah is also Sunnah. Moreover, one should use one’s own belongings, and although it is permissible to borrow something from someone out of necessity, it is better to avoid it as much as possible. According to the preferred opinion, the ritual bath (ghusl) of Jumu'ah is recommended (mustahabb).
