Hadith 1321

1321 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: فِي كَسْبِ الْحَجَّامِ: «اعْلِفْهُ النَّاضِحَ»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the arrival of the cupper: "Feed your camel fodder from him."

Explanation & Benefits

Benefit:
One should not take payment for cupping (hijama); in this hadith, it is stated that if any payment is given, it should be fed to the camels. However, a previous hadith has already been mentioned in which the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself gave payment to the person who performed cupping (hijama).
