1315 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الثَّوْمِ، فَقَالَ: «مَا كَانَ بِأَرْضِنَا يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَوْمٌ، وَإِنَّمَا الَّذِي نُهِيَ عَنْهُ الْبَصَلُ وَالْكُرَّاثُ»
It was asked from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) about garlic: so he said: There is no garlic in our area. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has prohibited onion and leek.
