1302 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَا جَابِرُ أَعَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَحْيَا أَبَاكَ؟ وَقَالَ لَهُ: تَمَنَّ؟ قَالَ: أُحْيَي، فَأُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِكَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَي، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي قَدْ قَضَيْتُ أَنَّهُمْ لَا يُرْجَعُونَ "
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Jabir! Do you know? Allah Almighty brought your father to life, and Allah Almighty said to him: 'Wish for something.' So he said: 'I wish to be brought back to life and to be killed once again in Your path.' Allah Almighty said: 'I have decreed that (those who depart from the world) will not return.'"

Martyrdom is a pleasure that is granted only to the martyr, and the believing martyr will desire to experience the pleasure of martyrdom again in Paradise. On the Day of Resurrection, neither a sinner nor a believer will be permitted to return to the world.
