Hadith 1270

1270 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلَعْقِ الْأَصَابِعِ وَلَعْقِ الصَّحْفَةِ، قَالَ: وَقَالَ: «إِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي فِي أَيِّ ذَلِكَ الْبَرَكَةُ؟»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded licking the fingers and the bowl. He (peace be upon him) said: "You do not know in which part of it the blessing is."
