1240 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الضَّبِّيُّ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ الضَّبِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ بْنِ التَّوْأَمِ، قَالَ: سَأَلَ قَيْسُ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْحِلْفِ، فَقَالَ: رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا حِلْفَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ، وَلَكِنْ تَمَسَّكُوا بِحِلْفِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ»
Shu’bah bin Taw’am reports: Qais bin ‘Asim asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about alliances (halaf), so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “There is no status for alliances in Islam, however, you should firmly uphold the alliance of the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah).”
