Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood between the Muhajirun and the Ansar in our house. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked: Did the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) not say: "There is no significance of alliance (hilf) in Islam"? So Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this tradition again and said: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established alliance (being allies to one another) between the Muhajirun and the Ansar in our house. Sufyan says: The scholars have explained this as: He established brotherhood.
