Hadith 1236

1236 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا ابْنُ جُدْعَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ: كَانَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَنْثِلُ كِنَانَتَهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَيَجْثُو عَلَي رُكْبَتَيْهِ، وَيَقُولُ: وَجْهِي لِوَجْهِكَ الْوِقَاءُ، وَنَفْسِي لِنَفْسِكَ الْفِدَاءُ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «صَوْتُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ فِي الْجَيْشِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ فِئَةٍ» قَالَ أَنَسٌ: «وَرَأَيْتُ ابْنَ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ وَمَعَهُ لِوَاءُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي بَعْضِ مَشَاهِدِهِمْ»

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) took out all the arrows from his quiver and placed them before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he knelt down on his knees and began to say: My being is for your protection, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and my life is sacrificed for you. The narrator states, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the army, the voice of Abu Talhah is better than a group." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I have seen Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) in a battle, the flag of the Muslims was with him.
