Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If people were to walk in one valley and the Ansar were to walk in another mountain pass, I would walk in the mountain pass of the Ansar. If migration had not taken place, I would have been one of the Ansar. The Ansar are my arm and support, so whoever among them is good, do good to him, and whoever among them is bad, overlook him." The narrator named Ibn Jad‘an has reported this. The narrator named Hasan has further narrated these words: "However, the ruling of the prescribed punishment is different (it will be carried out on the bad person)."
