Hadith 1198
1198 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ صَلَّي بِالْمَدِينَةِ بِالنَّاسِ مَسَاءَ يَوْمِ النَّفْرِ الْأَوَّلِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «إِنَّ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ سَبَقَ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ» وَإِنَّ ذَكْوانَ مَوْلَي مَرْوَانَ قَدْ سَبَقَ الْحَاجَّ، وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ أَخْبَرَ عَنِ النَّاسِ بِسَلَامَةٍ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: فَقَالَ ذَكوانُ: ¤ «أَنَا الَّذِي كَلَّفْتُهَا سَيْرَ لَيْلَةٍ ... مِنْ أَهْلِ مِنًي نَصًّا إِلَي أَهْلِ يَثْرِبِ»
Wahb bin Kaysan narrates: I saw Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) performing prayer in Madinah Munawwarah on that evening when people depart on the first day. Then he informed: Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) used to excel in matters of goodness, but Marwan’s slave, Dhakwan, outpaced the pilgrims; he brought news of the people’s safety. Sufyan says: Dhakwan recited this verse: “I am the one who made this (mount) hasten from the people of Mina to the people of Yathrib.”
