Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Muhammad Ibrahim bin Basheer
Benefit: In this hadith, there is mention of four rivers of Paradise, and by these are not meant the rivers of this world; rather, these rivers will be in Paradise. As an additional benefit, it is presented that "Mawara' al-Nahr" (Transoxiana), from where Allah Ta'ala produced many great hadith scholars (muhaddithin), refers to the regions beyond the Jayhun (Oxus) and Sihun rivers. By "Wara' al-Nahr" is meant this very river, and this river is adjacent to Afghanistan. Samarkand, Bukhara, and other such places fall within the region of Mawara' al-Nahr.
