Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Avoid obscene speech! For Allah Almighty dislikes the one who is obscene and uses foul language. And avoid oppression, for oppression will appear as darknesses on the Day of Resurrection. And avoid miserliness! For it was miserliness that incited those before you to shed blood, sever ties of kinship, and declare unlawful things as lawful.”

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Muhammad Ibrahim bin Basheer
Benefit: In this hadith, emphasis is placed on avoiding indecent speech and oppression, and the prohibition of miserliness is also established. Every person should cultivate good qualities within themselves, because these qualities engender humanity in a person, which will benefit everyone. And every person should protect themselves from bad qualities, because they bring nothing but harm—both to oneself and to others.
