Hadith 1188
1188 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحُبَابِ سَعِيدَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَتَصَدَّقُ بِصَدَقَةٍ مِنْ كَسْبٍ طَيِّبٍ، وَلَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا طَيِّبًا، وَلَا يَصَعْدُ إِلَي السَّمَاءِ إِلَّا طَيَّبٌ، فَيْضَعَهَا فِي حَقٍّ، إِلَّا كَانَ كَأَنَّمَا يَضَعُهَا فِي يَدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، فَيُرَبِّيهَا لَهُ كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ فُلَوَّهُ، أَوْ فَصِيلَهُ، حَتَّي إِنَّ اللُّقْمَةَ أَوِ التَّمْرَةَ لَتَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِثْلَ الْجَبَلِ الْعَظِيمِ» وَقَرَأَ: ﴿ وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَأْخُذُ الصَّدَقَاتِ﴾
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, whoever gives charity from pure earnings—and Allah Almighty accepts only that which is pure—it rises towards the sky in a pure state and is placed in the place of truth. Its condition is such that the Lord takes it in His right hand, then He begins to nurture it, just as one of you raises his animal’s young, until a morsel or a date, when it comes on the Day of Resurrection, will be like a great mountain. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (or Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him) recited the verse: «وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَأْخُذُ الصَّدَقَاتِ» (9-At-Tawbah:104) “He is the One Who accepts repentance from His servants and receives (i.e., accepts) charities.”
