Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person is sitting in the shade and the shade moves away from him so that part of his body is in the sun and part in the shade, he should move from there (i.e., he should sit either completely in the sun or completely in the shade)."

Explanation & Benefits

Benefit: In this hadith, there is a command from the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) that a person’s body should not be positioned such that part of it is in the shade and part of it is in the sunlight; rather, either his entire body should be in the shade or his entire body should be in the sunlight.
